Yang Hyang-ja, the official in charge of South Korea’s semiconductor industry affairs and also a National Assembly member expressed her hope for closer cooperation with China in the semiconductor industry at a meeting with the Chinese Ambassador to South Korea Xing Haiming on July 25, according to the official news from the Chinese Embassy in South Korea.
The two sides discussed semiconductor industry cooperation, bilateral economic and trade cooperation and other matters.
Yang stated that “South Korea attaches great importance to cooperation with China in semiconductor, and hopes that the two sides will combine respective advantages to carry out closer exchanges and cooperation.”
“South Korea and China have close economic and trade exchanges and fruitful industry cooperation, and have formed a mutually beneficial and win-win relationship,” she added.
Xing Haiming said that China is willing to strengthen cooperation in semiconductor with South Korea, and jointly maintain the stability of the global industry and supply chain by adhering to the principle of a fair and just market and eliminating external interference.
